Seabreams (Sparids)

The beautiful endemic red roman Chrysoblephus laticeps is one of the Cape’s most iconic fishes. Its recent IUCN Red List assessment reveals an encouraging trend: the species is recovering, largely due to the effectiveness of Marine Protected Areas such as Table Mountain, De Hoop, and Tsitsikamma. © Steve Benjamin
